Roman J. Israel, Esq. premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival to a mixed reaction. To try and alleviate this, the filmmakers have recut the film to give the plot more immediacy which some may enjoy but it didn’t change that much for me. You can find my earlier review of Roman J. I have just finished attending my first ever film festival in Toronto. I saw 20 movies this year which is a decent number for my first time (hopefully I will see more in subsequent years) so for those wondering what I thought of them, I have ranked them in a list below and included their release dates.
