Still Purging (The Purge: Election Year Trailer 2)
If you would liked to read my thoughts on the first trailer, click here. This also happens to be on my list of most anticipated movies of 2016. I am a big fan of The Purge series ever since the first film as I thought it was very original at the time and was just a great thriller. The second film kind of lost some of that charm for me as they tried to expand the universe by bringing it outside the confines of a single home. What makes me excited about this one is that it seems to be the best of both previous movies and looks very exciting. The Purge: Election Year releases July 1st, 2016.
Time to Purge (The Purge: Election Year Trailer)
I’m a big fan of “The Purge” movie series. I thought the first one was very original and exciting. My favorite movie in the series is the first one because I loved the sense of isolation between the family and the intruders. The second film opened things up and let us experience what things were like on the outside but seemed to focus less on the main people involved even with more of them in this movie. At first I couldn’t think of where they could take this without it being too repetitive but then here comes the next installment, The Purge: Election Year. This one may end up being the same, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but this direction is interesting as it introduces an anti-Purge storyline. Senator Charlene ‘Charlie’ Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell) is anti-Purge and is running for President but of course the pro-Purge people want to stop her. At least Sergeant (Frank Grillo) who is back from the second movie, The Purge: Anarchy, is here to try to protect her. The film looks just as exciting. The Purge: Election Year releases July 1st, 2016
