In this episode, Richard gets emotional, Jared makes a friend, Gavin gets screwed, and Dinesh was Dinesh.

This episode started with Richard wanting to take action against Jian-Yang and his fake Pied Piper but that will have to wait until Bream Hall rectifies their problems with Eklow Labs. In the meantime, Laurie made herself CEO and dealt with them in a typical Laurie fashion. When Richard found her, she had her own Richard moment and vomited under the pressure. In that moment, she began to relate to Richard and his hardships as a CEO. Feeling bad for her, Richard decided to help but this decision didn’t quite sit well with Jared who believed Richard was letting his emotions cloud his business judgment. Jared claimed that he had been doing exactly that ever since being named Pied Piper COO.

Gilfoyle and Dinesh had a competition on who was the better coder. Once Dinesh was supposedly told that his code had less errors, he spent most of the episode rubbing it in Gilfoyle’s face, bad jokes and all, until it was revealed that it was just some more mind games by Gilfoyle. Meanwhile, the other engineers reminded them that there was still real work to do.

Richard was upset after Laurie sold his gift. He would need to buy it back but he didn’t have to anymore once the missing Fiona showed up. He, Jared, and Big Head had some fun with her while Jared had a different idea for her. Richard wanting to exchange her for money from Bream Hall, however, Jared had release all his pent up emotional energy on her. He was emotional when Fiona was returned, more so after she was dismantled for parts. At least for Richard, he got his newest financing term sheet.

Gavin made a visit to China to see how his factory was working and it was much different than he remembered. They were changing things for the better of their employees, however, Gavin only cared about its output and whatever they had to do to get it. Once Gavin caught wind of another Pied Piper, he stumbled his way to where Jian-Yang was hiding. Gavin learned that his Pied Pier found a way around Richard’s patent which was originally his. He offered money for it but Jian-Yang didn’t accept. He then sent the factory manager to try and get the code.

Gavin’s factory manager got Jian-Yang to sell the code but to him thus squeezing him out.

Overall, this was a good episode that saw Richard and Jared evolve once more at the expense of Fiona (R.I.P Fiona) while Dinesh and Gilfoyle had a fun one-sided competition that treaded familiar ground with them. It would have been nice to see Jian-Yang be a little more competition for Gavin but he’s surely not done yet. This season has been hilarious so far and it will be interesting to see where it all ends up and whose internet wins the race.

Score: 9/10
