The New York Film Critics Circle recently welcomed eight new members, including The Ringer’s Kameron Austin Collins, IndieWire’s David Ehrlich, The National Catholic Register’s Steven Greydanus, BBC’s Caryn James, Film Comment’s Violet Lucca, RogerEbert.com’s Sheila O’Malley, The Atlantic’s David Sims and Vox’s Alissa Wilkinson. The group collectively voted in Buzzfeed‘s Allison Willmore as their Vice Chair. The current roster culminates to forty-two members and the largest membership since the group was founded in 1935. Furthermore, the organization is the oldest and most prestigious in the United States.
The NYFCC is consistently the first critics led organization to announce its award winners. The group will vote on its annual awards on Thursday, November 30, 2017 followed by the annual Gala Awards dinner on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
