Synopsis: Liv makes a devastating discovery. (TVGuide)

Wow, guys, wow. Can you believe next week is the iZombie series finale?! It’s so hard to believe and/or grasp this but we’ve known it was coming for a long time. It just seems like 2019 is the year shows decided to end their run so it makes sense.

This week’s episode allows Liv, Clive, and Ravi to achieve the impossible–break into the CDC. You see, it appears Ravi and his friend Charli, get screwed over. After Ravi sends the tainted Utopium her way, she is screwed over by her superior who refuses to help them out and instead focuses on how money can be made from this.

This prompts Liv and Ravi to come up with an impossible plan to break into the CDC. The benefit of being a zombie is that you can just eat the brains of any dead person and take on their personality and skills. This is why they acquire the brains of everyone from hackers to thieves to ninja warriors. They’ll need this and a bit more if they want to break into the CDC and obtain the flash drive that has the formula for the cure. It’s a long scheme but iZombie makes it work, and it’s pretty hilarious to follow.

Meanwhile, back in New Seattle, things are raging into an all-out war as Major is betrayed by his fellow soldiers who decide to join the radical zombie army. For a second I thought we were going to lose Major, but phew, he made it out alive! Unfortunately, he had to make a run for it and now a manhunt is on looking for him. The problem with him being on the outs is that he can’t get into Fillmore Graves to get the Max Rager that is needed for the cure. But hey, if our group can break into the CDC, Fillmore Graves has nothing on them.

It is worth mentioning that it would have been nice to see Blaine to redeem himself in this episode. After following Peyton and discovering where they were hiding the kids, Blaine holds them all hostage and even kills one of the kids. maybe after seeing her he would feel some sort of sympathy and remorse, but nope. He fully intends on doing things his way, and because Ravi got to him with the Peyton comment, he has even more anger and rage inside of him.

Sigh, it’s sad to see what next week’s series finale will bring but how the final season has gone has been satisfying so far, despite it having its slow moments. This cast is amazing and they have made this show worth the watch. I’m sad to see it go, but hey, we still have one more episode before we need to start crying!
