No Days Off shows that when even off-duty these firefighters lives are nothing short of fiery and drama-filled.

Travis receives a call at the station. It’s Maya. She cannot disconnect from work and enjoy her vacation. Carina manages to convince her otherwise. Meanwhile, Andy has disappeared from the apartment and Victoria is taking care of Dean’s baby. Oh and Owen stops by to give Ben a new tool for his truck. Here’s what happened in “No Days Off.”

This episode decides to show a day in the off-duty life of these firefighters. While their job is consistently intense situation after the next you think that their at-home life would be a bit calmer. That is far from the case here as each firefighter finds themselves dealing with awkward situations.

It jumps into the topics of immigration and ICE by having a restaurant where Andy, Sullivan and Pruitt are eating report one of their workers. It is interesting to see how Andy and Pruitt have conflicting opinions on this matter. Andy sees ICE agents as modern Nazis while Pruitt believes they are doing their job. Of course this escalates when Sullivan reveals his grandfather was a real Nazi. It explains his attempt to help the worker when ICE arrives, but it seems a bit contrived. That and Sullivan’s subtle proposal to Andy…

Meanwhile, Travis is having his own awkward situation when Chief Dixon invites him to lunch with Emmett and Emmett’s girlfriend of six years Alicia. Being the secret boyfriend of a closeted gay firefighter puts Travis in a weird spot because he cannot exactly say no to his boss. He seems resentful of Emmett for not coming out and being himself, but that is exactly what Travis did and it caused his family to implode. Bit odd that he would wish the same on anyone else.

And of course Dean is having problems keeping romance out of his relationship with Victoria. She’s playing house, taking care of Prue, so it only makes sense that Dean would develop these feelings. How does he decide to tackle them? By distancing himself and push her away. Problem is that Victoria won’t let him get away so easily and wants to know how her friend is feeling.
