This episode of WandaVision started off slow but certainly ended up as a game-changer despite the shocking but not shocking reveal.

It was Agatha all along!

That song is surely going to be in a lot of people’s heads for a long time following this latest episode of WandaVision following a shocking but not so shocking reveal as the series continued to put all of its cards on the table, setting up what looks to be a climatic run to the end. The signs were there but the series has done a great job playing with viewers perceptions of the world and the mystery surrounding it. If it wasn’t already clear, Elizabeth Olsen, Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris, and countless others should be in contention for Emmys for their work throughout the series thus far.

As far as this episode was concerned, the sitcom this week was Modern Family with Olsen delivering a stellar Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy impression. Considering what she had just went through, she was tired and was arguably losing control so she wanted to take some time for herself. Meanwhile, the episode’s The Office esque opening echoed that sentiment as Vision was essentially an afterthought. So she can get some time for herself, Agnes took care of Billy and Tommy.

Vision woke up near the newly-created carnival and was confused for a clown. There, he ran into Darcy who was transformed into an escape artist though she still remembered who she was. From there, the two left the carnival and went for a ride where Darcy filled him in on everything that happened (exposition dump). The trip back home seemed longer than usual as the world acted to keep them away (though not many would mind as Paul Bettany and Kat Denning’s chemistry made it a fun trip).

SWORD set up a new base outside of the boundaries of the new hex. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Monica met with her contact who was really a military scientist who was part of a team that built her a vehicle to drive through the hex but when that failed, she went in alone and fought through the hex, hearing voices from her past along the way, until she emerged with powers like her superhero identity as Spectrum in the comics.

Now in Westview, Monica went straight for Wanda and confronted her. Things got heated until Agnes put an end to it, taking Wanda back to her house. Looking for her kids, she went down to Agnes’ basement but the boys were gone. Instead, Wanda discovered something more. Agnes was really Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch who responsible for everything. It was her all along as she got her own fun song that featured her and her involvement in everything that had happened so far.

This episode also contained the series’ first post-credits scene as Monica found Agatha’s basement but was interrupted by Pietro who may or may not have been conjured up by Agatha.

In the end, it would be a shame to see Hahn’s Agnes/Agatha go as she has been the best part of the series thus far. Based on the series’ role in setting up further MCU films, it’s unclear how it will end but it will be exciting. The week-to-week format creates so much anticipation as viewers can’t help but to theorize. Bring on the next episode!
