Don't Get Attached is a phenomenal episode that looked to the past to understand the present but not before delivering a huge shocker.

In order to move forward, one must first look back, something the series has been lacking thus far. However, the writers have certainly made up for that here. In a final season that has been putting the pieces together in a compelling way, this episode as it and its characters all approach the end, weaving in the past and the present in a great way. All those finally answered questions make sense in explaining the complicated natures of many of the characters in retrospect but in the end, it will surely still leave many jaws dropped.

The mind games between Eve and Helene continued as the former struck back though even she had her limits. Nevertheless, it was still effective. Everyone was on the lookout for the person who eluded Carolyn and the supposed leader of the Twelve, a man named Lars (Ingvar Sigurdsson) who was presumed dead though clearly was not. There’s definitely some unanswered questions there.

Carolyn had since left Cuba but Villanelle hung around only to eat Benita’s (Anna-Maria Everett) food. She has turned a new leaf this season therefore couldn’t help but empathize with Benita’s situation at home involving her abusive husband. Feeling charitable, she disposed of him in an inventive way for her though this quickly snowballed into more. Meanwhile, Konstantin’s training of Pam continued. Her brooding demeanor is seemingly meant to be quirky, however, the character has yet to become endearing in any sort of way.

Moving on from her charity work, Villanelle found Konstantin for what was a touching reunion which appeared to have more significance for the latter, perhaps knowing more than he was letting on about what was going to happen next. She needed help for who she was really after but all Konstantin could point her towards someone who could maybe help her.

At the end of the day, Eve may have rattled Helene but Helene still found a way to get back at Eve in a way that hurt her while shocking countless viewers in the process. That being said, one can’t help but feel for Eve as Sandra Oh delivers a powerhouse performance. Hopefully it is not what it looks like because that will be a major blow to say the least.
