We’ve just made it through what has been a tumultuous year for many audiences as December has often been the month that sees the release of blockbusters and various aspiring award contenders who are all hoping to win the favor of the masses. As expected, the release of the long awaited sequel to 2009’s Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water has unsurprisingly been a behemoth at the box office and is well on its way to becoming the highest-grossing film of 2022. The month also saw the release of a few potential contenders who opened to divisive reactions both critically and with audiences with the ridiculous Babylon and the formulaic biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
