Unwanted follows what happens when a cruise ship called Orizzonte, packed with western tourists, rescues a group of shipwrecked refugees from the sea. Their stories become intertwined with those of the crew and passengers, with it all taking a dramatic turn when some of the refugees, out of desperation, decide to hijack the ship upon finding out they are to be taken back to Libya.
