Food superstars Anne Burrell and Jeff Mauro each lead a team of fun and flirty kitchen disasters through a life-changing culinary bootcamp to transform them from cooking duds into kitchen studs. The recruits not only learn how to make date-friendly dishes like sushi, spicy wontons and classic French pastries, they also go head-to-head in romantic dating-inspired challenges like the Cupid Games, the Bagel-orette and the Inferno Zone. In the end, only the most improved recruit left standing is awarded a $25,000 grand prize, bragging rights for their mentor and the ability to add “great cook” to their dating profile.

Season 9 begins a few months after Elizabeth chooses Lucas over Nathan. The town is a state of growth, with the foundry coming nearby soon and the evolution of key relationships. After a trip away for a few weeks, Elizabeth returns to town eager to reunite with Lucas. The town is buzzing with the Mayoral race with a few key members of the town running against one another. Elizabeth and Lucas focus on their relationship beyond courtship, and as she gets to know Lucas a bit more, she learns more about his past which gives Elizabeth pause. Her book is also published which leaves the towns folk wondering if the characters in the book are fictional or based on real people. Meanwhile, Nathan remains in town and is focused on his Mountie career, but runs into trouble when he gets into an accident and suffers through the recovery. He meets Mei, the new pharmacist in town who helps him through it. Could she be a potential love interest for Nathan? Rosemary and Lee continue to run the town newspaper and build it further. There is a chance a baby could be in their future. We also see how the Canfields focus on Joseph being the new preacher in town and how that affects his relationship with his son Cooper.
