October 17, 2024: Passenger S1 | North America Premiere, North America Exclusive, BritBox Original | 6 x 60’ | 2x Weekly

Everyone’s afraid of something, it’s how we deal with it that defines us. Katie  (Rowan Robinson, A Haunting in Venice) is driving Oskar home through the eerily silent, snow-covered forest, outside their village Chadder Vale. Something scary crashes into Katie’s car and she stops and follows it. Whatever it is, it abducts her. DS Riya (Wunmi Mosaku, Loki), a local policewoman, is called to investigate the disappearance. She’s always searched for that ‘one big crime’, that one challenge, that will make her feel completely alive again. But after some worry from her mother and few friends, Katie returns the next day. None of this sits right with Riya. Where did Katie go? Why does she seem changed now she’s back and why won’t she open up about what happened? Katie’s disappearance is the first of a series of strange happenings that start unfolding within the village. The other villagers ignore these or start resorting to short-sighted theories and blaming outside influences for what’s going on. Riya investigates as stranger things keep happening, her discoveries adding up to something bigger and weirder – leading her – to her surprise – to a mind-blowing secret that’s been hidden beneath the village bread factory for years…
