The Crisis is rapidly approaching, and with it, Barry's hopes are dwindling that he will be able to survive. Kudos to the pace of this episode for giving us something to look forward to despite a rather slow episode.

Synopsis: Barry prepares a member of Team Flash for life without him while hunting a terrifying meta-human with an unquenchable thirst; Ralph uncovers a family secret. (IMDb)

Barry has to tell Team Flash about the Crisis, and luckily he does just that in this week’s episode. In typical Barry fashion, he delays and hesitates to deliver the news. But at the end of the day, they need to know and be prepared to live in a world without him.

Dead Man Running slows us down from the two that preceded it, unfortunately, but still manages to get its point across. Most of the episode was focused on Killer Frost, and what will happen to her when the Crisis comes. This may be a minority opinion, but it’s been hard to care about this character. While it would be nice to, the writers have made her rather useless.

There is so some progress on the whole Dr. Ramsay Russo storyline, although that too isn’t the most exciting one. At this point, most of us are surely just waiting for anything Crisis related and any hints they can give us to the upcoming crossover event starting in December.

What Barry doesn’t know is that Ramsay is quite the evil human being, and has every intention to get his hands on dark matter. Which is why he is willing to go to great lengths to get his hands on dark matter at STAR Labs. Basically, before the episode came to a close, he did what he set out to do. Does anyone else get creeped out by evil Dr. Russo?

The episode was rather slow in every other fashion. We got to see another Harrison Wells, who, Allegra found with Iris investigating further. It also threw in Ralph’s storyline with his criminal mother Debbie (Amy Pietz), which proved to be boring as well.

Despite the many less than ideal subplots that this episode had to offer, we still got bits and pieces of the Crisis embedded in there, which is quite honestly what any of us are here for.

There should have just been more exciting stuff to report and recap from this week’s episode of The Flash, but this was about as exciting as we got. Oh, Barry did tell Team Flash what the dealio is with the Monitor’s message of Barry’s death in the Crisis. Basically, with them in the loop now, it’s become more important for him to make sure Team Flash can handle things without him.

Something tells me they won’t have to…
