The time calls for dark men to do dark thingsâ€. These words ring truth and echo across the Black Sails Episode XXXI. The winds of changed shifted in this episode, which showed the fall one of pirate leader and the rise of another. Overall, it was very enticing episode that was poignant just as it was brutal.
The lines have been drawn and the war over Nassau is far from being over. This episode was not as explosive as the last one, but didn’t need to be. With most of the introduction to season 4’s set up was in episode XXIX, episode XXX was able to hit the ground running, with a decisive battle (halfway through) as well as a couple of character moments and the introduction to a new character.
Hamm….Wow….and interesting. Some of my first initial thoughts after seeing the season 4 finale of Vikings. It was definitely an important episode with a huge victory Ragnar’s sons and a couple shocked filled moments to close out the season in a very interesting way, but with a few more question marks instead of exclamation points. Pirates, guns, cannons, swords, and the desired to over Nassau ignites and explodes in the season 4 of Starz’s Black Sails. With season 4 being the final season of the show, I assume that many things are going to collide and this episode entitled XXIX (episode 29 of the series) kicks off that notion with explosive battles, decisive maneuvers, and the ambiguous loyalty and resentment some of these character harbor between one another. Things are coming to ahead in season 4’s penultimate episode “On the Eve”. This was more of a contained episode (not the multitude of narrative threads as it has been in the past couple of episodes), so this review might be a bit shorter than my normal ones. Nevertheless, this episode was pretty good as it had plenty of action, a few shocking moments, and a build up to the battle in Wessex.
