Three canine-centric films have hit theatres so far as it appears 2018 is the year of the dog. While Isle of Dog and Show Dogs appear on opposite sides of the rating spectrum, where would Dog Days fit in? Its huge cast and premise fall in line with the Garry Marshall ensemble comedies centred around holidays, so would this film be more aptly named Dog, Actually?

Disney has more or less been successful in their live action ventures as of late from The Jungle Book to Beauty and the Beast. With Fox’s Goodbye Christopher Robin not quite capturing the magic of its characters, could Disney’s version fill that Pooh-sized hole in our hearts?
Any film or TV series that deals with student life has the pressure of its cast delivering some great, relatable performances. That isn’t to say that child actors can’t deliver phenomenal performances, but some are still discovering what kind of actor they are so it can be real hit or miss. The last few coming of age stories have been promising so hopefully Bo Burnham’s directorial debut can follow that trend.
