Victoria heads into the gym to find her ex Jackson Avery is there working out with Ben. They are working together on the mobile unit which irks Victoria. She doesn’t like him invading her home, but she decides to compete against him in some weightlifting. Meanwhile Emmett wants to talk to Travis about what happened between them, but he wants nothing to do with it. Here’s what happened in ” I’ll Be Seeing You.”

If any episode felt like a season finale put out of place, this is certainly it. The story follows a fire at a nearby storage facility that the team responds to while Pruitt and his old crew members reminisce over a Poker tournament. There is a lot of talk about death and wills as Dean sits with them and talks about his newborn. Oh how much foreshadowing this episode has.

At the facility, the team of Andy, Jack, Travis and Emmett get trapped with no ventilation. Of course, Pruitt and his team are listening and he decides to take it upon himself to help. Pruitt rushes to the building and goes onto the roof, trying to clear the ventilation, but in the process the roof collapses and he is engulfed into flames. The team gets out, but Pruitt unfortunately sacrificed himself for them.

While this is now the third death in its short season, Station 19 decided to give its former captain a heroic death rather than one stuck in a hospital bed. It is what Pruitt deserved, even if it came out of the blue. And Andy is definitely going to feel the aftershock of this in her life. She expected more time with her family and now he suddenly is gone, risking his life for her. Luckily she has her new husband Sullivan for a support system. Yes, they eloped! With Pruitt there no less so at least she got that.

If Station 19 ended after this episode, it would have been fine, but it is going to be heartbreaking to see more of these characters mourning their beloved father figure.

Captain’s Log

  • Will Sullivan get help?
  • Will JJ return?
  • Does Jack get demoted for his involvement in Vasquez’ situation?
  • How much longer does Pruitt have left?
  • Who will leave Station 19 next?
