The Dark Tower Trailer #1

After a few delays, the first trailer for the film adaptation of Stephen King’s popular series, The Dark Tower, is here. In the film, we will get to see Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey square off as the Gunslinger and the Man in Black respectively where the fate of the world is in the balance as it always is. While I haven’t read any of the books, this definitely looks to be an action-packed epic, spanning multiple worlds. My main problem with this was that I’m sold on Idris Elba as the Gunslinger, I have a hard time seeing Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black because his accent just doesn’t fit right for me. This could change or maybe his performance will transcend it as he has done on multiple occasions recently. We don’t have to wait very long as The Dark Tower releases August 4th, 2017. (more trailers below)

The House Official and International Trailers

What has Will Ferrell been doing all this time? I guess this, apparently. Ferrell and Amy Poehler are some of the funniest people out there so their pairing is intriguing. Here they play parents who decide to start an illegal casino in their basement after he and his wife spend their daughter’s college fund. Those expecting anything high-brow will be disappointed as the trailers do not offer any evidence otherwise. This movie lives or dies on the strength of the material and the chemistry between Ferrell and Poehler and I have more confidence in the latter. I was skeptical about Daddy’s Home so maybe this one will prove me wrong as well. The House releases June 30th, 2017.
