Rating Summary
Snow Pack is yet another disappointing episode of The Flash that fails to deliver a coherent and exciting storyline.

Synopsis: When Icicle returns to enact the next phase of his devious plan, Caitlin and her mother must resolve their long-combative relationship to defeat the icy monster; Barry makes a big decision about their family without consulting Iris. (TVGuide)

These last reviews of The Flash have become interchangeable because the sentiment never changes week to week. The Flash continues to drag the story and insert random arcs into every episode. What was it this week? Caitlin’s dad–the Icicle. And also, where the heck is Cisco? He’s basically the only reason to enjoy watching the show right now.

After Barry drops Nora back off into the future, he comes back to the present with a less than warm welcome from Iris. She is pissed and has every right to be. Once again, Barry has taken it upon himself to make unilateral decisions without consulting with anyone. It’s sort of what Barry does. Are you surprised at this point?

Basically, Iris doesn’t care that Nora was working with Thawne, to which Barry fires back and says that if Iris had seen Thawne murder her mother–she would have felt differently. OUCH.

Since Iris and Barry don’t talk to each other about anything important, Iris makes a plan to bring Nora back and Ralph ends up helping her by using the Time Sphere. Heading into the future, we see Thawne telling Nora all about the negative Speed Force. She ends up accessing it after she realizes that Iris has come to get her–not Barry. It’s heartbreaking, sure, but what did she expect?

Meanwhile, Caitlin is busy dealing with her father, the Icicle (they couldn’t have come up with a better name?). He manages to break into her mother’s lab and steals some technology. As expected, Icicle shows up and ends up kidnapping Caitlin and her mother. Basically, this drama is so Icicle can turn Caitlin’s mother into a metahuman. He wants them to be one big ice family. Get it?

Eventually, Caitlin escapes and goes after her father who has taken her mother hostage. Through all the emotions, her father bursts through Icicle and gets back to his human form which leads to an emotional moment between him and Caitlin. Unfortunately, the heartfelt moment is followed by his death thanks to Cicada. Yah, Cicada was in this episode too randomly.

The episode eventually drags on and ends on a positive note as Barry and Iris make up and work through their problems. But after going into the future and seeing Thawne and Nora, Iris is confident that Thawne might actually care for Nora. So, what does that mean exactly? We have no idea because the final moments of the episode show Nora coming out of the Negative Speed Force with fire red eyes. So…she’s evil now?

And then there’s Grace, who randomly pops up at the very end standing in front of her younger self that’s in a coma. Yah, if you were wondering what’s going on here, you are not the the only one. And if anyone can explain, this reviewer is all ears.
