While disturbing throughout, The Orgy provided many great comedic moments for each main character that felt severely lacking in the previous episodes.

Synopsis: Tensions run high as the vampires prepare to host the Biannual Vampire Orgy. (IMDB)

The Orgy answers the age old question, “What are vampire sex parties like?” If you ask Nandor, they are like pizza – when it’s bad, it’s still good…and sometimes you wake up with bite marks on your penis.

This episode centers around the group of vampires frantically preparing for a bi-annual vampire orgy after their house was selected to host. Nadja and Lazlo take the audience through a historical recounting of all the infamous orgies over the course of history. If successful, it will be remembered for all time, but if it fails, they will be forever remembered as the vampires who threw a boring orgy (at least until the next one later in the year). This is hilariously emphasized by Nadja’s depiction of “shame-bats,” vampires who refuse to transform back into their human form from the humiliation of hosting an awful orgy.

In preparation for the upcoming event, Guillermo is tasked with obtaining many many sex toys and random items such as a fondue fountain that uses blood as well as the perfect virgin for the festivities. His quest proves more difficult than first thought to be as the teens that inhabit the local Christian church groups have a very different definition of virginity and the local CrossFit gyms, which are full of them due to the fact that they will not shut up about CrossFit, is too annoying to go to. Nevertheless, he eventually runs into his friend Jeremy who is the perfect model of virginity due to his love for Fortnite and copious nosebleeds.

Lazlo’s journey is far from similar as he embarks to set the perfect mood for the party by digging up his old porno tapes starring himself since the beginning of cinema more than a century ago. Trouble arises when Nadja, after being forced to watch at least 100 of them before the party, finally admits to Lazlo that they are extremely boring triggering Lazlo to retreat into his coffin in disbelief for the remainder of the evening and leaving Nadja to make the best out of a quickly failing situation.

As guests begin to arrive, Lazlo turns up to deliver a speech in front of the crowd that declares his love for Nadja and desire to participate in a 2-person orgy rather than this overblown party. While admirable, this gesture sends the party-goers racing for the door and the group permanently labeled as boring orgy hosts. However, it did bring Nadja and Lazlo closer together (literally) as their bat coitus is interrupted by Nandor seeking to console them after their failure.

Each vampire was able to have specific moments that displayed the actor’s ability to land one hilarious joke after another when describing awkward sexual situations or vampire rituals as well as featuring Guillermo in some of his best situations as a familiar. While it will be difficult to forget the image of Jeremy losing his virginity to Constantine the orgy gimp, the shrieking mating sounds during bat coitus or even Colin Robinson’s leather outfit, The Orgy is a return to strength on what has been a very solid first season for WWDITS.

As next week’s episode is the season finale and news of a renewal for a second season allows the series some room to breathe, what will matter most will be its ability to finish the season strongly.

I’ve never seen this show, but goddamn does it sound hilarious. Is it as funny as you describe it? I’ll have to give this a go. Thanks!
