How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall? was a great season finale and a showcase of the series' writing, directing, and performances.

Behold the best episode of the season and one of the best of the series.

Moishe’s hospital room was the place to be for the characters early on as they were all concerned about his condition while some worried about if they were the ones who caused it.

Midge trying to make it work with Joel and Mei just made things more uncomfortable for Mei. However, the club couldn’t deal with Midge’s absence for very long therefore she went back to help out with a hilarious set that quickly got emotional as she thought about Moishe and her family. Lenny Bruce heard it from backstage though and complimented her set. He suggested she take his spot as an opener for Tony Bennett at the CopaCabana. Their moment was interrupted by the club getting raided but they kept it going through the snow and to his hotel room where he could tell her what he really thought about her and they could truly take their relationship to the next level. Ultimately, Midge was set on no opening acts therefore she rejected the Tony Bennett opportunity, much to the dismay of Susie and everyone else.

Abe became obsessed with fulfilling Moise’s final wishes thanks to Imogene showing up everywhere. However in the end, Moishe did not die and woke up from his coma. That being said, Abe’s obituary was still very touching. Moishe was okay with Joel and Mai but the fact that she wasn’t Jewish was an issue. Meanwhile, Abe and Rose getting even with the matchmakers was satisfying.

Lenny Bruce’s Carnegie Hall performance was great as Midge watched him get a standing ovation. After the show, he gave her some much needed advice about her career path. Her trying to follow his path was perhaps not the most ideal way to go at it. It was nowhere near how it may have seemed to her. She needed to wise up and just put in the work which meant any gigs. Lenny put pressure on her to not screw it up. That was just sensational acting from Rachel Brosnahan and Luke Kirby.

Walking back in a snowstorm, Midge saw a Gordon Clark show billboard which could very well be the opportunity she was waiting for. It remained on the precipice but her current path kept her away from it. Maybe Lenny’s pep talk will work.

One can’t help but want Midge to get big.
