This was a fitting conclusion to what has been an epic iZombie ride. This show will be so dearly missed, and this ending was exactly what any of us could have asked for.

Synopsis: The human versus zombie war finally comes to a head. (TVGuide)

Guys, iZombie is officially over. FOREVER. And the way they ended up bringing the series to an end was pretty much perfect and it’s hard to think of a better way this story could have ended. After a successful mission in Atlanta, Ravi, Liv, and Clive were finally making their way back home. However, the woman sitting next to Liv couldn’t shake off the feeling that she recognized her and before she could figure anything out, Liv and Ravi work together to put some sleepy medicine into her drink. It’s a good thing because the woman eventually did figure out who Liv was and had found an article about her being Renegade.

On the other hand, Clive was eager to get home as Dale was in labor which made things even tenser for everyone. By the way, the way they handled this whole part of the episode was great, it was just so natural and not forced. They didn’t make it an awkward scene or plot point, and it got us to the point that when the three of them did land, they were greeted with welcoming individuals that wanted to help them.

You see, the air hostess on the plane recognized Liv, but in a good way. Liv had cured her sister, and she wanted nothing more than to help these three out and across the border. Phew, at least Clive was able to make it to the birth of his child!

But, guys, we need to talk about the many moments the series finale had in which we thought we lost some crucial characters. First off, there’s Peyton who gets shot but luckily doesn’t technically die but rather becomes a zombie. Then there’s Major who wanted to prove to the world that the cure worked and was willing to let the enemy try and kill him. Luckily, it was all a ruse and Major made it out alive too. And, then, there’s Liv who was inside the morgue when a bomb went off, so we presumed her to be dead too–until the very end.

It was all very emotional and scary, and too much for my heart to bear. It was admittedly a little unsettiling to think that iZombie was going to end with everyone dead. But, the big battle in Seattle eventually came to an end, and we got a bit of a time jump into the future where things are pretty futuristic, enough to where the whole gang meets in virtual reality sans Major and Liv. A decade later, Ravi and Peyton are married, Clive is a captain and father to two children, and well, the other two, let me tell you a bit about that.

You see, we thought Liv was dead, but she ended up surviving even though the world thought her to be dead. And, yep, she’s still a zombie happily married to Major as they raise their orphan kids somewhere far, far away. What a happy ending, right?

I absolutely loved the ending and it gave me a sense of comfort and closure as we bid farewell to the series. It will be very missed, and I’m not sure how life will go on without it, but at least we’ll always have old episodes to go back and watch!

iZombie, gone but not forgotten!
