Since I’ve started this site, I’ve written a lot of reviews. In case you missed some of my earlier ones, I would like to share an older review of “Sing Street” which originally appeared here.

Best Movies of 2016
It’s that time of the year again. 2016 is coming to an end for a lot of us and everybody else has posted their lists of the best and worst movies of 2016 already so it’s about time that I join in and shared mine. This year, I’ve managed to break my record of 100 movies in 2015 by almost doubling it with 190 movies this year. That’s a lot of movies. Obviously, some were good and some, not so much. For some reason, I liked more movies this year so instead of the usual top 10 list, I’ve expanded it to 20. Below are the top 20 best movies of 2016:
Best Movies of 2016 (So Far)
Better late than never I always say. I’ve mentioned many times about beating my record of 100 movies last year and I am now well on my way after seeing 92 movies so far this year. That is a lot of movies and I can’t even imagine where I’ll be at the end of the year. Out of the 92 movies I’ve seen so far in 2016, there definitely were some good ones and some not so good ones. Now I’d like to talk about the 10 best movies I’ve seen so far in 2016. Some of my descriptions are from an earlier post of the best movies of year 1 of keithlovesmovies.com
Sing Street Review
Shy Dublin teenager Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) feels like an outsider after his parents’ money woes force him to transfer to a new, rough-and-tumble school. One day, he spots the trendy Raphina (Lucy Boynton), and, unable to think of a reason to talk to her, asks her to star in the first music video for his band. She agrees, which puts Conor in a bind since said band does not yet exist. Together with his friend Darren (Ben Carolan), he starts a glam-rock-inspired outfit as he falls deeper in love with the enigmatic Raphina.
Down on Sing Street (Sing Street Trailer)
Don’t you sometimes wish that you had a better childhood? At least I do/did. What triggered these feelings for me was a recent trailer I saw for a film entitled Sing Street. It is about an Irish boy growing up in the 80s named Cosmo (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) tries to escape his family by starting a band and moving to London (as one would do). As one would expect, this is because of a girl. Seeing that this is a British movie, expect a bunch of eccentric characters with the most so far being Brendan (Jack Reynor). The film looks interesting so far with a likeable main character and a decent supporting cast. This also promises to have music from The Cure, A-ha, Duran Duran, The Clash, Hall & Oates, Spandau Ballet and The Jam. Sing Street releases April 15th, 2016.
